Pilot Synopsis - A Short, Sharp, Shock
Opening the show at a Sunday high tea by the river with everyone piled into a dining hall, creating havoc and noise, we meet each family in a moving tableau of personality.
The great riverside lawn of one of the many high-end hotels along the River Thames outside London. A large power-yacht, heaving with the families singing loudly, drinking, children running wild, is speeding away at top-speed. GEORGE (10) NEIRA and SIMON’s daughter, however, is standing alone on the dock, forgotten, frantically trying to get their attention.
The pilot episode will center around the intertwined lives of the three families - the differences between them: one the height ofclass, wealth and creative genius; one a trashy, an incestuous one-hit-wonder glam-rock band; and a struggling, bankruptcy-bordering working class family desperately trying to stay head-to-head with them all.
We will see the life of the female-centric families once the men have left on World Tours. Focusing on the lives of the three groups (The Wives, The Nannies, and The Children) we will dive deep into the unorthodox ways of money, fame, sex, and power.
Episode 2 - That Book by Nabakov
School is a tough business — sexually available exchange students and teachers help pass the time.
NEIRA and SIMON war over whether to send their kids to private boarding school. As always NEIRA wins and SIMON schemes illegal ways to make enough money to indulge her rich fantasies.
GRETTLE, whose family home is a mere 5 mins from the private school moves into the boarding house with GEORGE - the grass is always greener no matter how much money you have.
An 18-yr-old exchange student/intern arrives from Germany and CLEO catches NEIRA in bed with him.
Episode 3 - Witches at Black Masses
LIZZIE and ZAHARA turn 25 with a massive joint birthday party.
LIZZIE meets NIGEL — a king-pin drug dealer — and falls hard.
NEIRA, gets into toning and color therapy and someone nearly loses an eye thanks to one of LARRY’s rogue fireworks.
GEORGE and GRETTLE get busted on a porn call. IPHY and ELLY corner a session band-member’s growing teen son.
Episode 4 - She Don’t Like Cocaine
GRETTLE writes a song for Ethiopia and DALLAS and NEIRA butt heads on whose child is more talented throwing GRETTLE and GEORGE into turmoil and causing a fissure between the families.
New Years eve in the Alps leads to boys, booze, and bruises.
SIMON teaches GEORGE how to roll a hash joint for him. And one of the young children accidentally drinks a bottle of champagne and ends up in the hospital after falling off a table and cutting open her back.
LIZZIE gets arrested by Swiss police for carrying drugs into the country. As a result DALLAS and LARRY separate.
Episode 5 - Babe I’m Gonna Leave You
Not to be outdone, NEIRA and SIMON follow step w/ DALLAS and LARRY and separate after SIMON loses his temper on daughter GEORGE for stealing money from NEIRA’s purse to buy some false nails for a party. He is served a restraining order after knocking GEORGEunconscious in the tussle as the pressures of maintaining the life of the wealthy when you’re poor start to wear him down.
JEANNIE, the McLain's nanny, is poached by DALLAS.
NEIRA hires JEANNIE and LIZZIE’s younger brother DES to take over Nanny duties... And help with the loneliness.
Episode 6 - The Bomb That Will Bring Us Together
After the tour the severed families take a much-needed sailing trip together around some beautiful Grecian Islands to attempt to recover and reconnect.
Things take a spin when NEIRA stays on to have an affair with the young first mate of a yacht trip and nearly dies in a car accident on her way home. GEORGE has a spiritual/psychic moment at the exact time of the crash solidifying her need and protection of her Mother.
SIMON, not invited on the trip, flies out to the Island to care for NEIRA and learns what kind of person she really is.
DALLAS and LARRY finally file for divorce and LARRY gets sued by a band-mate.
